Overall I'm excited to spend 3 weeks in a classroom for fall field. I have an awesome partner (Amy) and our cooperating teacher is so nice. However, 5th graders terrify me and the show "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" is to blame. In fact, while we were waiting to hear about placements I was praying that I wouldn't be put into 5th grade, any other grade would have been perfectly fine. But here I am, starting 3 weeks with the smartest people on the planet. Hopefully I can find something to teach them that they don't already know :)
I know exactly what you mean, when brianna and I were doing individual reading with the students I came to the realization that some of these students can read faster than I can. So basicly there i am trying to follow along with the where the student is in the book and I can't even keep up. Really I thought about this after and really I wouldn't have even know if they had mispronounced a word or skipped a line, it really just blew me away! I feel like I'm not even close to being as you said "Smarter than a fifth grader".
