Pre-Field Jitters!

Hey Everyone, I am so excited to go into field. My co operating teacher is amazing and so willing to accomodate my requirements, I think she will be amazing to work with and I think I will learn a lot! I am going into a 6th grade class which is a little intimidating for me because I have worked mostly with younger students, and I like the little ones. Who knows, maybe I will fall in love with the 6th grade. I am mostly worried that I will forget something important, like a key assignment. I will also miss seeing everyone! Good luck ladies and David, I think we are all about to have a great experience!

First Post

Excited for field! I've been missing being in classrooms. Bummer to be without the cohort though!! Good luck :)

Hello All!! Very excited to go on my field assignment and work with fourth graders, but sadly I will truly miss all of my wonderful co-hort friends. You are all the best!

Hello All! So, I am excited to meet with my cooperating teacher for the first time this coming Monday. Yah, that kind of pushes it close to our actual field experience, but it is the best we can do. I can't wait to find out what we will be teaching. In the meantime, we have been packing and cleaning and doing all that wonderful stuff so we can move to Michigan. I feel like I have been all wrapped up in my heating blanket and enjoying the comfort of my "dial a number" bed, and I just don't want to leave. Utah has been so good to us, and comfortable, and yes, snuggly. But my husband assures me he has found a lovely home on a lake with a dock and 1 acre of land. All this for around $220,000. You can't get that in Utah. I have mourned leaving Utah, my great neighborhood, my home which has been in the family for over 20 years, and half of my children. But I have not finished mourning leaving my beloved UVU and the great education I was going after. Being a bit older than most, I fear I may never have the chance again to get my teaching degree, but we will see. We may be coming back in a few years, then one of you can be my cooperating teacher! Yea! That is the Lake House back yard. Do you think I could leave for this?
Nah, but I could leave for this:

First Post Test!

My field partner and I are going to be working with 4th graders! I'm so excited to get inside the classroom and start putting mu UVU education to the test by actually helping students accomplish their learning goals.

Yay! I made it here!

This is My Test Title

Yeayy! Field is going to be GREAT! And I'm excited to learn how to use the Smartboard next week! :-)
Woohoo! I am in. So excited for field.
Hey ya'll! Yahoo for a new blog for us to all post on! Ready for field to start to see all the fun adventures :)
Hey All, Here is my welcome post! Blogging will be another adventure for me so here's to learning something new :)
Welcome to our adventures in student teaching pre-service field experience. This is where we will learn from each other and how everyone is managing their field experience.

Please let us know how your day is going. What it is like to be a pre-service student teacher, what it is like to work with 4th and 5th grade students. What you are learning, how your lessons are going, what students are learning, and if you have any AHA moments. This will be a fun way to take a walk through your classroom.

During your field experience you are to post DAILY about your experiences, discuss what you learned, tell us what it is like teaching/working with students, provide recommendations you would give others, etc. You may use the above questions as a guide

Each person in class is to respond once a week to 3 other classmates. You may provide pick-me-ups, advice, comments, and any other help and/or comments you would like.

Each daily post should be at least 3-4 paragraphs in length. Each comment should be the same regarding length. Do not comment to the same person. Each week you should read and comment to a different classmate.

Remember you are the window to your classroom. So let us know what is going on:)
